Actor Marton Csokas (pronounced CHO-kash), has enjoyed an exciting and eclectic fifteen year-plus career in movies, in television, and on stage, both at home in New Zealand and worldwide. His intensity, talent, dedication, and range as an actor, have made Marton a favorite among both critics and movie-goers. He is well-known for his interesting character and film choices, as well as his humble attitude towards his work and his life as an actor.
Marton Csokas first became well-known for his recurring role on the television series, "Xena." American audiences, as well as critics, took note of him as the villain, Yorgi, in the Vin Diesel adrenaline ride, "xXx." Marton has also appeared in the high profile films "The Lord of the Rings", "The Bourne Supremacy", "Asylum", "Kingdom of Heaven", and "The Great Raid". Most recently, he co-starred with Charlize Theron in "Aeon Flux". He will next be seen with Eric Bana in the immigrant drama, "Romulus, My Father."

Dream project: “There is a script floating around about the fictitious relationship between Orson Welles and Billie Holiday. I always thought that sounded fabulous, the premise is wonderful. It is written by David Margolick who also wrote Billie’s bio, Strange Fruit.”

2/11/07 - Marton accompanied Eva to the British Film Awards tonight where she was nominated for the Rising Star award. She won and you can see he was very proud. From the stage, she thanked "my Marton, he's been my best friend through all this." As you can see, they're both dressed alike in high collars. More about these inside and a video clip of her win.
2/07/07 - Marton takes his Hungarian roots seriously and here's an autograph of his, accent marks and all.
An interview from www.székesfehérvár.com explains. "Up till the age of 13, he wrote his name in English fashion, despite having Hungarian citizenship. According to him, he realized at the age of 13 how important his roots are for him; since then, he usually even uses the accents while writing his name."
